What is the NWTF?
The NWTF — a national nonprofit organization — is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America.
Founded in 1973, the NWTF is headquartered in Edgefield, S.C., and has local chapters in every state.
The NWTF is dedicated to the conservation of the wild turkey and the preservation of our hunting heritage.
Through vital partnerships with state, federal and provincial wildlife agencies, the NWTF and our members have helped restore wild turkey populations throughout North America — from a mere 30,000 in the entire United States to more than 7 million across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL RENDEZVOUS
You and your Committee are invited to attend the National Wild Turkey Federation’s 21st Annual South Central Regional Rendezvous on Friday, July 28th, through Sunday, July 30th, 2017. NWTF Staff and State Boards (AR, LA, OK, & TX) hosts this leadership training for State and Chapter Presidents, District Directors, & NWTF volunteers at the Ramada Inn Financial Plaza, (Exit 10 off I-20) in Shreveport, Louisiana.
This year’s Rendezvous will focus training on “Growing Memberships” and “Outreach” to lead and maintain a successful local NWTF Chapter. Training blocks will include helpful topics like;
Capturing all memberships at the local banquet and securing memberships at outreach events.
Maintaining sponsors and members pre-banquet, during banquet, and post banquet to insure a successful event.
Outreach event opportunities that can generate both memberships and revenue and have minimal financial impact on the chapter.
How to work closely with our Conservation group to maximize effectiveness getting the word out about “What we do” and “Where the money goes”.
“Medieval Times” is the theme for our 2017 South Central Regional Rendezvous so get busy and creative to come decked out in your best “Medieval Times” costume for our SATURDAY evening banquet. The Saturday night banquet is a very fun event but also includes raffle game and training ideas your Chapter can implement at your local banquet. Don’t miss this opportunity to join in on the fun and costume competition for the best men, women, and couples costume awards. It’s much more fun to be in costume so challenge all of your Committee to dress out!
For a very minimal charge this will include two nights at the Ramada Inn Financial Plaza (Friday & Saturday) along with lunch and dinner on Saturday. There will be a hospitality room set up on Friday evening in the Exchange room at the Ramada Inn from 6:00-10:00 pm.
To register please complete and return the Registration Form by our deadline of Friday, July 21st 2017 along with your chapter or personal check or a credit card number. Do not call the Holiday Inn for room reservations, your Regional Director will send your registration(s) to the Ramada Inn. Room assignments will be designated by NWTF Staff. If your spouse is attending or you prefer a private room the cost will be $100. Registration will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday by the Corporate Room at the Ramada Inn. Hotel check-in is 4:00 pm but early arrivals may check in if rooms are available. There will be a table outside the Corporate Corner Meeting Room on Saturday for name badges and goodie bags for late arrivals. Late registrations will not have a pre-printed name badge.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: TO AVOID UNNECESSARY CHARGES TO THE RENDEZVOUS WE ASK THAT ANYONE WHO CANCELS TO PLEASE NOTIFY THEIR REGIONAL DIRECTOR 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. WE ARE CHARGED FOR ROOMS NOT CANCELED PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL DATE SO PLEASE HELP US REDUCE THESE UNNESSARY ROOM CHARGES.
As in the past, we encourage you to bring Chapter caps, t-shirts, gifts, state gift baskets or memorabilia your Chapter may offer to help us provide lots of door prizes throughout the event. If your chapter is interested in swapping out any kind of hunt, service, or merchandise with other chapters please prepare a “Certificate of Award”, with a signature from the donor, detailing the opportunity for exchange with other chapters for similar services. A local chapter donation form is also available from your Regional Director. We are asking this be done for all such donations so everyone will know what exactly is included and what they have to pay for without question.
We have had 20 great Leadership Training events and we want this year to be exceptional so we need you and other members to attend. Please don’t wait too late to share this event with your committee and be sure to submit your registration form(s) on time. Take advantage of this great opportunity to network with the best NWTF volunteers in the nation and visit with State and National volunteers and staff.
Should you have any questions please contact your Regional Director at your earliest convenience. We feel the training and atmosphere at the 21stAnnual South Central Regional Rendezvous will inspire you to achieve local, state, regional and national goals and set the Southern Region above the rest! Make sure your Chapter is well represented and plan today to get away from work, the kids, relax and enjoy a great weekend retreat.
We look forward to seeing you in Shreveport!
